Data coverage

From the UK corpus to one Wiltshire reading

The index narrows the national warehouse to four fixed town footprints, then removes duplicate homes. The wider corpus is shown for provenance and is not presented as the Wiltshire sample.

Warehouse coverage spans 4 June to 15 August 2026. Profile counts describe the UK discovery corpus, not active supply in this market; every published index applies its own geography, freshness, duplicate and minimum-sample rules. The corpus totals are the conservative 16 August audit. This market reading uses a later snapshot observed on 1 September 2026.

Methodology and publication notes

The index combines fresh observations from fixed footprints around Swindon, Salisbury, Chippenham and Trowbridge, then removes duplicate homes. An unavailable night may be reserved, owner blocked or withheld for another reason, so this is not realised occupancy.

  1. Defined town footprints

Swindon and Salisbury use eight kilometre radii. Chippenham and Trowbridge use five kilometre radii.

  2. Fresh observations only

A calendar state must have been observed within five days of the reading date.

  3. Each home counted once

Listings within 150 metres and homes overlapping two footprints are grouped before calculation.

  4. Complete horizons only

The first release has 61 valid dates, so the wider figure is reported over 60 nights rather than 90.
